Dev Build Update: H2H Sheet Redesign v1 (Jan 15, 2024)

Hey everyone!

We've been hard at work on a redesign for the Smashers App's head-to-head sheet and are happy to announce that it's now available for our Patreon members!

So what's new?

The sheet now has tabs, which effectively makes it a full H2H page that you can summon anywhere in the app. We're starting off with 3 tabs:

  1. Overview
  2. Matches
  3. Placements, which lets you compare their placements at events they both attended

We've also added settings to the matches + placements tabs so you can sort and filter the data to fit your needs. These settings are specific to each tab and allow you to do things like "show me Tweek's biggest upsets vs Mkleo" or "show me everytime Mkleo outplaced tweek at an S+ Tier event".

Finally, the h2h sheet redesign is a nice visual improvement over the original sheet we launched the app with.

So what's next?

This is only v1 of our h2h sheet redesign. Now that we've got this as a base, we plan on:

  • Adding aggregate stats to the top of each tab. This is going to be especially useful for the placements tab.
  • Adding a "VS Mutual Opponents" tab so you can see how the two players do against each other's bad matchups.
  • Adding a "report card" tab to compare how each player does at the stats on the front of the player page.
  • Adding character and stage data to the overview tab
  • Add additional settings options to all tabs
  • Performance improvements to speed up API requests and cache them more effectively

We also intend for this style of settings sheet to make their way across the app to other pages. These changes will happen gradually as we go back to update older features.

How do I download the new build?

If you've already downloaded a previous Patreon build:

  • iOS users go to testflight and update to the new version (0.9.2)
  • Android users click on the Google Play link you originally downloaded the patreon build from and update to the new version (0.9.1 Build #7)

For new members of the Patreon:

  • Go to the Smashers App discord and follow the instructions in #dev-install
  • We'll get you on the new build within a day
